Growing up in South Florida, this philosophy was evident in him from a young age. While in high school, he managed to work two jobs to save up for college and at the age of 20, he earned an Associate Degree in Electronics.  

Unfulfilled at 24, Roosevelt made a bold decision that would impact his life forever, working and living aboard a cruise ship as a host/slot technician. "I was totally immersed into something exciting and challenging," he says. Though adjusting to seaman's life was tough as seasickness was his constant companion, the casino was the one place where the action never stopped. He experienced the claustrophobia common to those unaccustomed to life at sea, but Roosevelt persevered and overcame those early intimidating days. Over the next seven years, his charming and caring personality entertained millions. He developed from a poor kid to one of the most desirable seamen in the history of Carnival Cruise Lines and wrote three novels: Cruisin' With The Dreamers, Cruisin' With The Player and Cruisin' With Vengeance, which are available at Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com. "The cruise ship has broadened my mind immeasurably and enriched my sense of culture and civilization," Roosevelt says. "Looking back, it was all about hard work, and above all, the people."
